Harvest Worship 2021

KS2 led the celebrations for Harvest this year - they focused on our core Christian values and led us in story and prayer.

Dear Lord

Thank you for the farmers who persevered in tough times to grow their crops. Thank you for the people in our community who persevered and helped others selflessly by giving their time to volunteer at food banks.

Amen

Friendship - Y3 poems

We celebrate Harvest as a thanksgiving

For every single one of the crops grown

Providing fruit and vegetables for people that need help

So they know they are not alone.

Truthfulness - Y4 Facts about Food

We need to be truthful about the food we waste. We need to think about those who struggle to feed their families. After all, food is a gift from God.

It is estimated that 30-50% of food produced globally is wasted every year. The average family wastes nearly £60 a month by throwing away food. 18-20 million tonnes of food is wasted annually in the UK. An estimated 20-40% of UK fruit and vegetables are rejected before they reach the supermarkets - mostly because they do not reach the cosmetic standards of the supermarket!

Service - Y4

One of our schools' Christian Values is SERVICE. This Harvest, we as a school are being of service to our local church and community by collecting food for Warrington Foodbank.

Some people are struggling more than ever because of COVID-19. It's our job to make sure that everybody in our community is looked after.

Christians believe that God wants those who have more than they need to share it with others, that they should show love to others and treat them as they would want to be treated.
