PE and Sport Premium
PRIMARY PE AND SPORT PREMIUM
What is the Sport Premium Funding?
The primary PE and Sport Premium was introduced to improve the provision of physical education and school sport in primary schools across England. It is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health, and Culture, Media and Sport. This means it may only be spent on the provision of PE and sport and must be used to achieve self-sustaining improvement within schools. It is expected that schools will see improvement in 5 key areas.
- The engagement of all pupils in regular physical activity- kick-starting healthy active lifestyles.
- The profile of PE and sport being raised across the school as a tool for whole school improvement.
- Increased confidence, knowledge and skills of all staff in teaching PE and sport.
- Broader experience of a range of sports and activities offered to all pupils.
- Increased participation in competitive sport
At Woolston CE Primary School, we have always been committed to providing children with excellent sporting provision. With the additional funding we aim to build on this further, ensuring that each child experiences the benefits. We believe ALL pupils should leave KS2 with the experience, knowledge, skills and understanding to equip them for a healthy and active lifestyle. We aim to challenge and motivate every child, providing them with a range of opportunities, to ensure lifelong participation in physical activity and sport.
